Miley Cyrus is raising money for HIV sufferers with the release of a new MAC lipstick.

The singer's teamed up with the cosmetic company to bring out her self-branded Viva Glam lipstick in early 2015, with proceeds going to the MAC AIDS Fund charity.

She took to Twitter to announce the collaboration, writing: "Going #VIVAGLAM with @MACcosmetics. Look for my lipstick in early 2015 ... Every $ from the sales of my #VIVAGLAM will go to @MACAIDSFund to help those affected by HIV! (sic)"

MAC AIDS Fund's mission statement says its purpose is "to serve people of all ages, races and sexes affected by HIV/AIDS. We fund bold, visionary and brave trailblazers determined to end the epidemic".

Famous for her wild antics on-stage, Miley had previously said she was a "walking joke".

"If I wasn't here I'd like to be doing some sort of stand up comedy, so I think that this is my way of doing that. I am the joke. Look at me! I'm a walking joke... I just kind of grew up in the pop world, so fame and money, I kind of know what they give you, which isn't a lot... even though people think it's kind of everything.

"I just decided, about a year ago, that my whole life goal was just to be happy all the time."
