The One Direction singer took the time to chat with one of his supporters while on a flight from London to Chicago on Monday (01.08.16) to see his friend Ellie Goulding perform at the Lollapalooza music festival, but declined his request for a picture as he wasn't feeling well.

However, much to his disgust, the fan sneakily snapped a shot while he was getting some rest.

The fan shared the picture on social media and wrote: "And to sum up the perfect European adventure, I sat directly next to Niall from One Direction for 9 hours on my flight home from London last night. He was sick and asked for no selfies, but here is a pic I snapped when he was sleeping lol he was so friendly.

"Talked about Ireland, LSE, lolla and more. Not a British Duke...But an Irish popstar will do. Thanks for treating me so well Europe! (sic)."

Horrified, 22-year-old Niall shared the post on Twitter and hit out.

He wrote: "I think this s**t is unreal. I mean if you can't sleep on a plane without people taking photos of you, what can u do (sic)."

But after then catching a plane from Chicago to Los Angeles on Tuesday (02.08.16), Niall seemed in a more relaxed mood as he was pictured posing for selfies with fans at the airport.

The 'History' singer also underwent an unpleasant experience, though it is unclear whether he was talking about the flight or something else.

After touching down, he tweeted later in the day: "Wow that was intense . Talk about claustrophobia ! didn't enjoy that for a second ..(sic)"

Meanwhile, Simon Cowell recently hinted that Niall is set to announce a solo deal with Sony soon.

Simon - who guided Niall and his One Direction bandmates to fame after discovering them on the UK version of 'X Factor' in 2010 - showered praise on the singer and revealed that a big announcement is coming.

He said: "I think they're all gonna do great. Niall is the most loyal. We are expecting to announce something soon with him. I've always known he's loyal."

Singer John Newman also revealed that he has been working on new material with Niall.

He said: "I was having a text back and forth with Niall Horan the other night about some ideas, which is cool."

The 'Little Things' singer owns a house in Los Angeles and it was recently claimed the property - which has been undergoing renovations since he bought it late last year - is haunted.

The house was previously owned by Hollywood star Gia Scala - whose 1972 death was attributed to an overdose, despite her bruised body being found on a blood-stained pillow - and a former resident believes the 'Guns of Navarone' actress' presence can still be detected there.

Jack Krane, who grew up in the house, said: "I always asked if someone died in one of these houses, and my parents said no.

"I have always felt something strange.

"That house is haunted, for sure. I've had a few ghost stories over there. It's creepy."
