This year's Oscars is going to be remembered for all the wrong reasons, as Will Smith took to the stage unannounced to strike Chris Rock across the face, following a joke that fell flat with the winner of the Best Actor Award, at his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith's expense.
One moment that we should look back on with a smile however, is that shared between celebrities Lady Gaga and Liza Minnelli, as the formidable duo took to the stage to announce the winner of the prestigious Best Picture accolade.
Having won the Lead Actress Oscar almost 50 years ago for her performance in Cabaret, there was perhaps no one better for the job than Minnelli. Recent health struggles however, contributed to a bit of a struggle for the veteran, who tripped a little over her lines.
Thankfully, Gaga was on-hand to help out, keeping her hand on Minnelli's arm and stepping in to fill the silence when it became clear that the star may have needed a little prompting.
As the Nominees for the Award began to fill the screen, we heard Gaga as she leant down to whisper in Minnelli's ear, "I got ya", to which she replied, "I know, thank you."
It was a simple, yet completely heartwarming few seconds, which will undoubtedly stick with all of those who watched it. On a night when violence could overshadow such kindness, it's important to also point out that there are a lot of good people in this world. Gaga is one of them.

76-year-old Minnelli hasn't made public any of the said health struggles she may be facing, but it was clear when she came out at the Oscars that despite anything going on, she is still going to make sure she enjoys herself and makes the most out of the opportunities handed to her.
For that, she has to be celebrated.
