The 'Mysterious Girl' hitmaker - who shares Princess, 13, and Junior, 15, with the 42-year-old star - is reportedly thrilled for Katie with her engagement to Carl Woods.

A source told OK! magazine: "Pete is really happy for Katie and Carl.

"He didn't know Katie was engaged but he expected they may get engaged soon and he thinks it's great. He thinks love is a beautiful thing and you can't ask for anything more."

Meanwhile, Katie previously revealed she doesn’t know why her marriage to Peter failed.

During an appearance on the ‘That’s After Life’ podcast with Dame Esther Rantzen and Adrian Mills, Esther asked Katie: "You were making a reality show with Peter Andre and I think you and Pete actually split. Right, you want to know why I think that was?"

And Katie responded: "Yeah, I'd love to know - I wanna know. I never did anything wrong."

Esther went on to explain that she believes the former couple’s reality show, ‘Katie & Peter’, was “quite damaging” for the pair.

Speaking about the series – which ran from 2004 before the pair married, until 2009 when they separated – Esther added: "That reality show was quite damaging.

"It got into your relationship and it made you look so dominant and it made him look so gentle.

"And you know how it is with television - the viewers always like the underdog - and it began to look as if Pete was in love with you and trying to do what you wanted and nothing was quite right for you."

Katie agreed with Esther’s comments, and said the split set her on a “horrific journey” with her mental health.

She explained: "I totally agree, especially towards the end. But the way I look at is, it happened, you can't change the past. But it's been a horrific journey since then.

"I'm still here, I didn't actually push the button to commit suicide, that's why I went to get help and I will never, ever let anyone or anything around me ever get me in that state again."
