Peter Capaldi is set to make £1 million from the sale of his house.

The new 'Doctor Who' star is expected to make a massive profit from putting his four-bedroom terraced house in north London on the market for nearly eight times what he paid for it, according to The Sun newspaper.

The 55 year old actor originally snapped up the property 19 years ago for just £167,000, but is now set to pocket a massive £1,275,000 from the sale.

An online ad describes the house as "a beautiful and stylish home offering character and unique features, combining modern with period detail and a studio".

It boasts a separate outhouse in the back garden, as well as a reception room, dining room and utility room and two bathrooms.

A print of Peter as his angry alter-ego Malcolm Tucker in a promotional poster for 2009 film 'In the Loop' hangs in the kitchen, portraying the actor in the style of US President Barack Obama's 2008 'Hope' election campaign.

The popular star won't be short for cash after landing the lucrative deal of taking over from Matt Smith as the Twelfth Time Lord.

He is due to make his debut alongside companion Clara Oswald (Jenna-Louise Coleman) on the BBC One show this autumn.
