Sarah Jessica Parker and her daughters

Sarah Jessica Parker says all three of her children are "gifted" artists who spend nearly all their free time drawing.

Parker and her husband Matthew Broderick are astonished by the creative talents of their kids, 11-year-old James, and four-year-old twins Tabitha and Loretta, and they often have to "drag away" the trio from their artistic endeavours.

She said: "They're all preternaturally gifted artists - they probably spend 80 percent of their free time drawing.

"Every morning before breakfast, we have to drag them away from drawing and painting, even my son. They're far more gifted than I ever was."

However, the 48-year-old star admitted she doesn't have a favourite among her children's pieces of work,

Asked to single out one she likes best, she told People: "You can't pick a favourite when you have three kids!"

And the youngsters will soon be using their creative talents to follow a family tradition on Valentine's Day (14.02.14).

The actress explained: "Since I was a little girl, we were not allowed to buy valentines, and my children do the same thing - a piece of cardboard from tights or pantyhose, they have to cut out their own construction paper, cut out their own doilies. We do it every year."

Sarah is raising her children to be well-mannered and insists they all write thank you notes.

She said: "My daughters write thank you notes, and they're just learning to read and be able to spell.

"It takes a significant amount of time just to do one, and they need a lot of adult supervision.

"They aren't required to do as much [as their brother] but eventually they will be expected to share their appreciation with someone."
