The 23-year-old singer still buys his underwear from the budget high street store. He might be worth millions but he sees no point in splashing out on something that is "only meant to keep your junk in".
He said: "On a day off I'll just watch films and eat chocolate in my underwear."
When asked what brand of briefs he's partial to, the 'Don't' hitmaker replied: "Primark. No one sees them, they're only meant to keep your junk in."
Ed - who considers Taylor Swift, Courteney Cox and Pharrell Williams to be his closest friends - says he has been enjoying the high life since his American audience has grown.
Speaking of his time in LA, he told Q magazine: "I was at parties, meeting people and thought, 'All of this could end tomorrow, I better do it all now.' I did everything I should've done - and everything I shouldn't."
After landing the cover of the latest issue of Q magazine, the crooner told his 2.42 million fans on Instagram he had fulfilled his "boyhood dream".
He wrote: "Boyhood dream of being on he cover of my favourite magazine came true. (sic)"
The new edition of Q magazine is out next week.
