Ed Sheeran is learning how to "booty clap."
The 23-year-old singer's video director Emil Nava has joked that the 'Give Me Love' hitmaker is being taught how to do provocative dance moves after watching Nicki Minaj shake her bottom at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) last night (24.08.14).
Speaking to E! news at the event, Emil said: "He's learning how to booty clap, among other things. Nicki can't just outdo us. We have to come harder."
Meanwhile, Ed was awarded the Best Male Video gong for his track 'Sing' at the ceremony, held at the Forum in Inglewood, California, after beating the likes of Eminem, Pharrell Williams and Sam Smith to the prize.
However, Beyoncé was the big winner at the glamorous event after she swept the board with four prizes - including the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, which was presented to her by husband Jay Z and their two-year-old daughter Blue Ivy.
The 'Drunk in Love' hitmaker's performance also impressed as she sang a medley from her recent self-titled album in an amazing 15-minute set.
However, Beyoncé wasn't the only one to have the audience dancing along as Ed's close friend Taylor Swift also shone with her new single 'Shake It Off.'
