Sony Music insist they are "doing everything they can" to support Kesha.

Lawyers for the record label have spoken out to insist they are unable to intervene in the contract the 'Tik Tok' singer has with Dr. Luke - who she claimed sexually abused her - but have tried the best to ensure she can work without having to go into the studio with the producer.

Scott Edelman, who represents the label, told the New York Times newspaper: "Sony has made it possible for Kesha to record without any connection, involvement or interaction with Luke whatsoever, but Sony is not in a position to terminate the contractual relationship between Luke and Kesha.

"Sony is doing everything it can to support the artist in these circumstances, but is legally unable to terminate the contract to which it is not a party."

Sony cannot terminate Kesha's contract because it is with Luke's production company, Kasz Money, which has a separate deal with Sony's RCA/Jive subsidiary.

Dr. Luke - whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald - has vehemently denied the accusations and took to social media this this week to call for an end to his trial by Twitter.

In a series of tweets, he posted: "I didn't rape Kesha and I have never had sex with her. Kesha and I were friends for many years and she was like my little sister. Until now I haven't commented on the lawsuits, which should be resolved in court not here on Twitter.

"It's a shame that there's so much speculation out there basing itself on so little information. The only truly objective person who knows the facts is the judge. The judge did not rule in Kesha's favor on Friday

"Lives can get ruined when there's a rush to judgement before all the facts come out."
