The 23-year-old actress is set to give birth to her first child in January but is facing complications because she's suffering with subchorionic bleeding - an accumulation of blood between the uterus and the placenta itself - and is convinced her ex-boyfriend Jeremy McConnell's acid tongue has caused the condition due to the stress.

Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: "I had my three-month scan the other day, which revealed my due date is in January. The baby was kicking its feet around and blowing bubbles ... The baby's heartbeat was nice and strong but the scan did show that I have a 2cm bleed at the top of my womb.

"They think it's all the stress I've been under. Everything that's been going on with Jeremy has made it hard to fully enjoy the pregnancy, but I've turned a corner and I'm in a better place."

However, that's not the only medical problem the former 'Hollyoaks' star has on her mind as she's also been told she's a carrier of cystic fibrosis and the doctors need to find out if Jeremy - who swears he's not the father of the unborn baby - also carries the faulty gene as there's a chance the little one could be born with the life-limiting condition.

She explained: "I have the cystic fibrosis gene and if Jeremy is a carrier too then the baby will be born with it ... Luckily there's a very low chance Jeremy will have the gene, but if he does I'll have the option to terminate the pregnancy."

Meanwhile, Stephanie and Jeremy, 26, have been locked in a bitter war of words since they split up in April.

They began dating in January after meeting on 'Celebrity Big Brother' but have faced cheating allegations, blazing rows and emotional make ups and break ups ever since.
