The singer made a surprise FaceTime call to Jalene Salinas on Monday March 2, to make the youngster's dreams come true after she expressed a desire to dance with Swift to her hit single 'Shake It Off'.

Speaking on the phone to Jalene's mother Jennifer Arriagas, she said of the child, who's suffering from an aggressive form of terminal brain cancer: "I got back from London and I heard about her and it's just unfathomable to have to watch your baby go through this."

According to a USA Today report, Jalene was said to be "in pain" at the time and as a result "didn't talk much", but did say "bye and thank you" to Taylor.

Her wish was granted after Swift's fans started a social media campaign to get #ShakeItOffJalene trending on Twitter.

Following the surprise chat, Jennifer said she was happy to have this wish on her daughter's list "ticked off".

In a chat with KENS 5 News, she added: "We can check everything off and as her mom it means the world to me that she got to do and see [everything] and everything is checked off now.

"It means so much to me that you reached out to us."
