The 55-year-old actress' twins Honor and Xavier - her children with her ex-partner John Byrne - are now 18 and now she no longer feels guilty about being away from her family for months' at a time to make a movie she open to taking on more roles.

Speaking to The Guardian newspaper, she said: "In the past few years I have been engaged with things in my own life, like having children and not wanting to be away from home for eight months. These are the things that make you decide what to do."

Tilda can currently be seen in her second Cohen Brothers film 'Hail, Caesar!' - in which she stars with George Clooney, Josh Brolin and Scarlett Johansson among others.

She admits shooting the movie - set in 1950s Hollywood - was like a "holiday".

She said: "The real division is between films I'm actually involved in making, and films I'm invited to. It's like parties I throw, and ones I go to. Like everything, it comes down to schedules. Working with the Coens, especially if it's only a couple of days, is like a Hollywood holiday. The other work I do is a slower burn; it takes a long time. Those films take years."
