The 31-year-old actress fronted the 90-minute award show on Sunday (06.12.20), which honoured the biggest and best moments in movies and TV from the '80s until now, and has said she was keen to bring people together for a night of fun amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

She said: "First off, it’s the first-ever GOAT awards, which is really fun. I love hosting, so to be able to do it during 2020 is a nice mix-up.

"Hosting a show during this time is, you know, a little weird. A lot more COVID testing, but it’s really great to be able to come here and celebrate and to be able to uplift people during these times.”

And the ‘High School Musical’ alum also insisted people “deserve” to watch a fun-filled show of all time greats after 2020 has been a nightmare year for many.

Speaking to People magazine, she added: "We are all about the GOATs here, so we are going to get the greatest of all time and we deserve that after the year that we have had.”

On the night, stars including Kevin Bacon, Gal Gadot and the late Chadwick Boseman were among those honoured with GOAT gongs, taking home the trophies for Dance Your A** Off, She-Ro, and Hero for the Ages respectively.

The event also saw Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair recreate their iconic kiss in 'Cruel Intentions', as they picked up the GOAT Legendary Lip Lock award, whilst Kevin Hart was named GOAT Comedy Giant and rom-com favourites Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler were crowned GOAT Dynamic Duo for their three flicks; '50 First Dates', 'The Wedding Singer' and 'Blended'.
