Vanessa White has revealed her battle with alcohol.

The Saturdays star Vanessa White has opened up about her battle with alcohol which threatened her career in 2010, but she revealed how band mate Rochelle Humes helped her through it.

The singer has opened up about her troubled past which threatened her career and made her "depressed" because she wasn't sure who she was.

Speaking in this week's issue of Fabulous magazine, she admitted: "I drank vodka mainly but, to be honest, I drank anything.

"It massively affected the band and I felt lonely and depressed. I didn't know who I was underneath everything I was supposed to be.

"I'd arrive for work every morning hungover, then my voice started to go. I'd have to ask Una [Foden] to cover my solos."

I went to G.A.Y., mainly because I didn't want to be hassled by men and just wanted to drink

She revealed her problems started to get "out of control" over three years ago, admitted she was "out every night" drinking.

She added: "My life started to spin out of control in 2010 and it was a dreadful year. I'd be out every night.

"I went to G.A.Y., mainly because I didn't want to be hassled by men and just wanted to drink."

However, Vanessa explained how her band mate Rochelle Humes helped her see the extent of her problem near the end of 2011 and got her back on track.

She said: "She told me to come to hers and I stayed with her for two weeks, not drinking, and eating properly. It made me realise I had to stop."
