The 84-year-old actor, who is best known for playing Captain Kirk in the iconic TV series 'Star Trek', has revealed he is fascinated by the life of the king of the Ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon.

He shared: "I've always thought he was a great human being. We also happen to have many of the same interests: science, athletics and horses."

In particular, Shatner is keen to learn more about the king's relationship with his horse Bucephalus, a wild animal that Alexander managed to tame during his young years.

Shatner told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: "I'd be very curious to know what he did with Bucephalus, his own horse. He was considered to be wild and unmanageable yet somehow Alexander tamed him."

The 'Star Trek' legend also admitted he is attracted to the idea of living his life during a different period in history, citing two specific examples.

He shared: "I think being born in Grecian times could be exciting. I'd also like to go with the Polynesians making their first forays out of Asia."
