Battersea Park: 7 – 10 March 2013

Attention art enthusiasts, culture vultures and fledgling collectors: this coming spring, the Affordable Art Fair Battersea returns to Battersea Park. The fair will showcase pieces from hundreds of established names and emerging talents alike, all priced from £40 to £4,000.

Renowned for its lively and informal atmosphere, the Affordable Art Fair Battersea is a fantastic day out for anyone interested in, or keen to dress their walls with, original art. Within the £40 - £4,000 price range, 75% of exhibited art is in fact priced under £3,000, and a great deal is available for under £1,000 too. As each piece is available to buy and take home the very same day, the fair has established itself as a go-to destination for those looking for unique one-off purchases, as well as more seasoned collectors.

Over 100 specially selected galleries from across the UK and abroad will bring their very best work to the famous Battersea Park Evolution location; from bronze sculpture to aquatint prints, oil paintings to photography and etchings.

Director of the Affordable Art Fair Battersea, Nicky Wheeler, comments,

"There truly is something for everyone at the fair. Whether it is photography, print or sculpture that you love, we have created an atmosphere that is relaxed and informal so that visitors can browse the galleries and lose themselves in the art that inspires them – uncovering new gems as well as established artists. We encourage people to ask questions, meet some of the artists responsible for the artworks on show and even have a go at producing their own pieces at one of our many workshops."

Battersea Park is the flagship home of the Affordable Art Fair. As well as browsing thousands of pieces of art, visitors at the event will be able to take part in hands on workshops, attend informal talks and participate in ‘Really Really Affordable Art’ tours, designed to direct visitors to art at the most affordable end of the price spectrum. In terms of budding talent, the fair will feature an emerging artists’ showcase selected by curatorial collective Jotta, giving visitors the opportunity to spot (and purchase works by) the next rising stars.

Families too are encouraged to join in the fun at the fair, where a whole host of free kids’ art activities take place in the Education Space every day so visitors may leave with a few personal pieces

- courtesy of their own family talent. For little ones that would prefer to play while parents shop, the fair’s on-site crèche is a bright and fun space for under 10s.

The Battersea event precedes two other Affordable Art Fair fixtures in the first half of 2013, with follow-up fairs taking place in Bristol and on Hampstead Heath on 26 – 28 April and 13 – 16 June respectively.

Since it was launched in 1999, the Affordable Art Fair has welcomed over 1 million visitors worldwide and is now a global success story, 17 fairs are now held in 14 cities across 4 continents, with the latest, in Hong Kong, taking place for the first time in 2013.

You can enjoy 2-4-1 entry at the Affordable Art Fair , Battersea 7th – 10th March upon presentation of this page at the ticket desk.
