Cashback, the first feature length film by Oscar® nominee Sean Ellis, deals with the unconventional life of art student, Ben Willis (Sean Biggerstaff), who is thrown into a world of insomnia after being jilted by his long term girlfriend, Suzy (Michelle Ryan).

As Ben realises he now has more time on his hands than he knows what to do with, he begins working the nightshift at his local Sainsbury’s to help fill his sleepless nights.

As sleepless nights become sleepless weeks Ben soon realises he can freeze time and uses his new ability to freeze, undress and draw female shoppers in the nude.

Ben also encounters some unconventional yet hilarious co-workers who introduce him to their unique ‘arts’; ways of keeping themselves entertained whilst working the graveyard shift.

Brian (Marc Pickering) practices his own special form of kung-fu whilst practical jokers Barry (Michael Dixon) and Matt (Michael Lambourne) get into narrow and hilarious scrapes every shift. Then there is store manager Jenkins (Stuart Goodwin), an officious and rather hapless jobs-worth, with delusions of grandeur obsessed by glories on the 5-a-side football pitch.

Ben begins to create a collection of drawings all focused on the female supermarket shoppers he has frozen and undressed, until he finds his muse in quiet, clock-watching checkout girl Sharon (Emilia Fox).

ascinated by her, Ben lets his imagination run wild as he fantasises about his shy and enthralling co-worker. Ben and Sharon become closer as he begins to get over his high-maintenance ex-girlfriend Suzy (Michelle Ryan).

An offbeat and riotously funny comedy, Cashback catapults you into Ben’s insomniac-fuelled part dream, part real-world life where the lines between reality and fantasy blur and you share his journey of lost love, obscure friendships and realisation of beauty in the most unusual places. Cashback, is available to own and rent on DVD from 1st September 2008.
