Critically acclaimed boxing drama Poor Boy’s Game is coming to DVD courtesy of Ricochet Releasing. The emotionally engaging drama, which made its world premiere at the 2007 Berlinale Film Festival and was officially selected for the Cannes Film Festival, stars Rossif Sutherland (ER) as Donnie, a young white boxer who is released from prison where he was held for brutally beating a black man. On his release Donnie is challenged to a fight by a vengeful opponent and as the tension builds within the multiple, diverse communities of Halifax, Nova Scotia the father of Donnie’s victim (Danny Glover - Dreamgirls, Saw, The Royal Tenenbaums) steps forward to train the young boxer.Coming from Clement Virgo, the director of indie hits Lie With Me and Love Come Down, the racially charged film is buoyed by stand-out performances, astute direction and engaging narrative making it unmissable when it hits DVD in April.
