Starring: Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chris Evans, Columbus Short, Zoe Saldana, Idris Elba
Director: Sylvain White
Rating: 2.5/5
Directed by Sylvain White, The Losers is a big screen adaptation of the Vertigo comic book series of the same name which brought together an impressive cast.
The Losers follows the members of an elite U.S. Special Forces unit sent into the Bolivian jungle on a search and destroy mission.
The team: Clay, Jensen, Roque, Pooch and Cougar, find themselves the target of a lethal betrayal instigated from inside by a powerful enemy known only as Max.
Presumed dead, the group makes plans to even the score when they're joined by the mysterious Aisha, a beautiful operative with her own agenda.
Working together, they must remain deep undercover while tracking the heavily-guarded Max, a ruthless man bent on embroiling the world in a new high-tech global war.
Sadly the movie doesn't entirely live up to it's promise yes it's funny, there are good performances from the cast and there are some great set pieces but this movie is very forgettable.
It's a good script that boasts some great one liners and funny banter between The Losers - Chris Evans in particularly has some of the best lines and puts in a very funny performance.
The Losers is a fast paced movie that is action packed, culminating in an over the top ending that is filled with fun and fire power.
The movie is violent, and funny and absolutely over the top but it is well worth the ride - even if it didn't live up to expectations.
The Losers is a movie that you can't take too seriously but a film that you can get lost in and laugh along with for a couple of hours.
The Losers is out on DVD now.
