The Following Season 1

The Following Season 1

From creator Kevin Williamson, (The Vampire Diaries, Scream) and executive producer Marcos Siega (Dexter, Damages True Blood), comes an original and dark new series about the poetry of death and deceit, as The Following: The Complete First Season comes to Blu-ray and DVD on 2 December 2013.

This sinister cat and mouse thriller stars Golden Globe® winner Kevin Bacon (X Men: First Class, Footloose, A Few Good Men) as psychologically scarred FBI agent and subject of Carroll’s fixation, Ryan Hardy; Emmy® nominee James Purefoy (Solomon Kane, Rome, A Knight’s Tale) as sociopathic and charismatic serial killer Joe Carroll; Annie Parisse (Law & Order, Person of Interest) as cult behavior specialist Agent Debra Parker; Natalie Zea (Justified, Under the Dome) as Carroll’s ex-wife Claire Matthews and Shawn Ashmore (X Men, Smallville) as sharp upstart Agent Mike Weston. With supporting roles from twisted trio Valorie Curry (Veronica Mars, Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2) as calculating cult member Emma Hill; Nico Tortorella (Make it or Break it, Scream 4) as reluctant follower Jacob Wells and Adam Canto (X Men: Days of Future Past) as Paul Torres.

When notorious serial killer Joe Carroll (Purefoy) escapes from death row and embarks on a new killing spree, the FBI calls former agent Ryan Hardy (Bacon), a psychologically scarred veteran to stop him. Working closely with an FBI team, including cult-specialist Debra Parker (Parisse) and sharp upstart Mike Weston (Ashmore), Hardy unearths that Carroll was covertly communicating with a network of followers while in prison.

Challenged with an ever-growing web of murders orchestrated by the diabolical Carroll, the FBI quickly learn that they are up against not one, but an entire cult of killers.

Committed to the concept of murder as art, Joe is able to brainwash a legion of recruits to do his bidding on the outside world, and there’s no telling how many of his dedicated followers are out there.

The FBI estimates there are currently over 300 active serial killers in the United States. This intelligent, edge-of-your-seat psychological thriller brings this disturbing fact to the forefront. Underpinned with a chilling influence of literary mastermind Edgar Allen Poe, Joe prepares to assemble his army.

This nerve-shredding series follows Hardy and the FBI as they are challenged with the ever-growing web of murder around them, masterminded by the devious Carroll, who dreams of writing a novel with Hardy as his protagonist
