Bowie Jane

Bowie Jane

Bowie Jane may have initially come in to do an interview with us and perform a live acoustic set for us, but we weren't going to miss the opportunity to make the most of our time with an Aussie pop star.

So, the first thing we did was to get Bowie to sit down and listen to a few tracks and get her to do a little bit or reviewing for us.

Harper Simon – 99

A feel good smooth track driven by acoustic and electric guitars, featuring some great musicians in the form of Nikolai Fraiture from The Strokes on bass and Pete Thomas on drums who used to play with Elvis Costello. It’s definitely worth giving this Smiths-lite track a listen, I really enjoyed it.

Rating: 4/5

Lord Huron – Lonesome Dreams

Although at times a little hard to hear the lyrics, I love the vocals on Lonesome Dreams and this track could be a real grower. Not all the track quite lives up to the vocal though, but it has a bit of a summery Paul Simon feel mixed with some Coldplay and Temper Trap.

Rating: 3/5

Andy Burrows – If I Had A Heart

If I Had A Heart is a radio-friendly, well written and well-structured song with a nice chorus build. It’s a good change to be able to properly hear the lyrics and I can imagine that this would be a perfect song to listen too on a Sunday while driving.

That wasn't the only thing we got Bowie to do, make sure to check out her interview with band Kitty, Daisy & Lewis and watch our interview with her and Bowie’s live acoustic session.
