Adele has told newspapers that her ex-boyfriend wanted royalties from her newest album, 21, after discovering that many of the songs were inspired by their break up.
Adele who has topped the charts and broken records on both sides of the Atlantic has told the Sun about her anonymous ex called her asking for royalties for the album, which has become one of the best selling albums ever.
She says "For about a week he was calling and was deadly serious about it. Finally, I said, 'Well, you made my life hell, so I lived it and now I deserve it.' "He really thought he'd had some input into the creative process by being a p**ck. I'll give him this credit - he made me an adult and put me on the road that I'm travelling."
