Amy Adams made her fiance wait to start a family - she promised to settle down and become a mum two years ago.
The pregnant Enchanted star is engaged to Darren LeGallo, and announced last month (Dec09) she is expecting the couple's first child.
Adams admits she first agreed to have a baby two years ago, but had to put off motherhood after signing up to a string of movie roles.
She says, "Two years ago my fiance and I sat down and agreed it was time to start a family. Then I went off and did two more jobs. He's been very patient."
Adams has seen her career soar over the last few year with Oscar nominations for Junebug and Doubt.
She has mixed srious roles such as Doubt with the likes of Night At The Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian and Enchanted.
Leap Year is the next movie up for Adams and The Fighter is currently in post production.
