Amy Smart ensured her wedding to TV carpenter Carter Oosterhouse was as eco-friendly as possible by recycling trash after the ceremony.
The Road Trip star snubbed a white wedding for a green one when she exchanged vows with Oosterhouse in his native Michigan in September (11).
Oosterhouse tells Eonline.com, "Our wedding was very green. We had 220 people there and only one bag of trash, not even a full bag. We recycled everything, we composted everything."
The newlyweds are now looking for a new house to share, and Smart hopes they will be able to install energy-efficient solar panels on the roof of the property.
She adds, "For my house, I had (the solar panelling company) come and... try and put them on my roof.
"From the mountains and the location, they said I wouldn't be able to benefit from it and it would be so expensive because I get so much shade at some points.
"So yeah, if we can, we will definitely try to put solar on (the new house)."
