Country music turned nasty at the weekend (12-15Jul07) when Canadian police
arrested 44 fans at a four-day festival, featuring Reba McEntire and Carrie
Underwood, in Saskatchewan.
According to local reports, the Craven Country Music Jamboree turned into
chaos when 23,000 music fans descended on the town for Sunday's finale.
Ten motorists were arrested for impaired driving. Canadian Mounted Police are also investigating five assaults, two assaults
with a weapon, for sexual assaults and seven complaints of theft. As well as McEntire and Underwood, the festival also featured performances by
Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson, Glen Campbell and Marty Stuart.
