Clint Eastwood, the actor and Oscar winning director, is now a much sought after composer - he has been recruited to write the score for a new movie. Studio boss Harvey Weinstein has approached the Hollywood legend to create the music for John Cusack's new drama Grace is Gone - after he scrapped the score already written by Max Richter. Weinstein tells PageSix, "Clint's unique understanding of the power of music and how it can impact a film will inspire audiences and is a beautiful companion to James Strouse's touching story."Eastwood has composed in the past - but only for movies he has produced himself. Eastwood is well known for his acting roles but in recent years he has gone behind the and become a very successful director. Despite making his directorial debut in 1971 for Play Misty For Me it was Mystic River that really gained attention in 2003. Actors Sean Penn and Tim Robbins went on to win an Oscar for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor. He followed it up with Million Dollar Baby which swept the board at the Oscars winning best film, best actress for Hilary Swank, best supporting actor for Morgan Freeman and best director for Eastwood.

And most recently Eastwood took on the projects of telling the tale of the battle of Iwo Jima in the Second World War. He produced two movies: Flags of Our Fathers from the point of view of the Americans and Letters From Iwo Jima from the perspective of the Japanese.
