David Hasselhoff pays tribute to Welsh mining disaster

David Hasselhoff has reached out to the families of the men who were killed in the mining disaster in Wales.

Four miners died when the shaft they were working in flooded and emergency crews were unable to free them from the Gleision Colliery in Pontardawe.

Now Baywatch star Hasselhoff, whose model girlfriend Hayley Roberts is from Wales, has expressed his remorse for the lives lost.

In posts on his Twitter page, he writes: "Please take a moment... so all of our prayers can be focused today for the families of the lost miners, they are loved. Our prayers are with them."

Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins also tweeted that her "thoughts and prayers" are with the victims of the tragedy.
