Emily Blunt has expressed her gratitude towards Scottish talk show host Craig Ferguson after he convinced her then-boyfriend to get down on one knee.
After sitting together on a 10-hour plane flight from London to Los Angeles, Ferguson had managed to persuade actor John Krasinski to propose to Blunt.
Ferguson had no idea Krasinski was even dating his friend when the two men first boarded the plane.
And he was stunned when The Office star confided in him that he was planning to ask Blunt to marry him upon his return to California.
Appearing on Ferguson's late-night show in America on Friday (04Dec09), Blunt insisted Ferguson was the one who helped "lock" her happiest moment "down". She told the host, "You guys talked for, like, 10 hours straight."
Blunt, who previously dated singer Michael Buble, is now engaged to marry Krasinski.
Earlier this year the English actress appeared in historical drama 'The Young Victoria' in which she played the monarch herself. She was nominated for Best Actress at the British Independent Film Awards for her performance.
