Fallen Australian pop star Jason Donovan has been given the chance to revive his TV acting career in a new series opposite Love Actually star Martine McCutcheon. Donovan, who once starred in Aussie soap Neighbours before becoming a pop superstar and London stage regular, fell on hard times and hit the headlines wen he revealed all about his drug abuse problems.But, following a stint on British reality TV show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, Donovan was offered a lead role in new series Echo Beach. The drama is currently being shot in Cornwall, England. Donovan and McCutcheon play ex-lovers in the series. Jason Donovan is best know for his role of Scott Robinson in Neighbours becoming one half of Ramsey Street's most famous couple, alongisde Kylie Minogue as Charlene.In 1988 after he had left Neighbours he signed for Stock, Aitken and Waterman's record label PWL and during his music career he sold 3 million records and had four UK number 1's.But his career wavered due to a back lash from fans after he won a a libel case against The Face magazine who had published allegations that he was gay.

Donovan appeared on the 2006 series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here which kick started his career.

Since this he appeared on the BBC's Any Dream Will Do and performed with the eventual winner of the show Lee Mead and Donny Osmond at the concert for Diana.
