Jason Statham Says Diving Was 'A Silly Hobby'

Jason Statham has brushed off his past diving talents as "a silly hobby".
 
The Transporter star once represented the U.K. Olympic team on the high board - but he insists he was never serious enough about the sport to become a winner.
 
Statham explains, "I did it for a little while; it was a silly hobby.
 
"I was on holiday with the parents years and years ago and I saw some guy do a high dive and I said, 'You know what, let me have a go at that.' It was just this stupid idea that I'd be able to do.
 
"I was on the British team for, like, 10 years and I ran around the world competing."
 
The Expendables star reveals he no longer makes a big splash diving, but he still loves the water.
 
He adds, "I go under the water now, instead of above it... I like scuba diving. It's great, down there with the fishes."

Sylvester Stallone's action movie The Expendables sees Statham return to the big screen Crank: High Voltage back in 2009.
