Katy Perry

The US singer and British comedian got engaged on New Year’s Eve last year following a whirlwind romance. They are planning to tie the knot later this year, and Katy has often spoken of how the relationship has made her feel an affinity with the UK. She recently revealed she is planning to apply for British citizenship once married, and has now revealed she would love to live in the countryside.

"I want to do something quintessentially British like buy a big farmhouse and have our children running around in the fresh air. I would want to do it properly though," she explained. "I wouldn't want us to be plastic farmers. I would expect Russell to be up milking the cows and collecting eggs from the chickens while I run the farm shop and bake pies.

"It might sound like I am kidding, but once Russell has made all the movies he wants and after I have made all the music I want, it would be the perfect place to start a family. England is still so green in parts, and it's where I would like us to raise our family."

Katy previously said she was unsure she could ever live in Britain as the weather is too grey and rainy. However, she has reconsidered her opinion after thinking about having children. The star doesn’t want to raise kids in New York or Los Angeles, and thinks they would have a more stable upbringing in the UK.

"Russell and I have dreams about our children, in Russell's case ten children, running about in acres of land," she added to British newspaper The Sun.

Katy’s parents Keith and Mary Hudson are preachers, and she had a religious upbringing. She has been open about how much God means to her, and says Russell has become more spiritual since being with her.

The British star has battled addictions to sex and drugs in the past, but Katy insists that is unimportant to her family as they can see he is now on a new path. "My mum has this idea about Russell that he's going to be a great man of God and his transition is happening," she told Radio Times magazine. "I think it is happening in some way, but won't be exactly specific to what my parents think. Can you imagine where he's come from to where he is now? There's got to be a reason why he's arrived at all. My mum is always saying there is a purpose to your life."
