Kirk Douglas Proud Of Son's Cancer Battle

Kirk Douglas has told of his pride and admiration for his son Michael Douglas as the Wall Street star battles cancer.
 
Douglas was diagnosed with stage four throat cancer earlier this year (10) and is currently undergoing intensive treatment in a bid to beat the killer disease.
 
He revealed the extent of his illness during a recent candid TV chat with U.S. host David Letterman - and Kirk was left in awe of his son's determination to recover.
 
Taking to his MySpace.com blog, Kirk Douglas writes, "I want to thank all of you for your kind thoughts and comments...

"The other night he (Michael) appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman to talk about the sequel to Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. I think it will be even better than the first.
 
"He also talked with dignity and humor (sic) about his bout with cancer. I admire my son, he's quite a guy."
