Lisa Edelstein will not be returning as Dr Lisa Cuddy to the eighth season of medical drama House, reports EW.com.

The actress has opted not to re-sign her contract, confirming that season seven will be her last season with the show.

Hugh Laurie will be returning to the show as Dr Gregory House.

Robert Sean Leonard and Omar Epps will also be re-signing their contracts and back on the show with Laurie, who has hinted that season eight will be the last.

Speaking to Radio Times magazine, he said, "The end of the (eighth) season, right now, looks the end of the show. That is as far as they have got me for."
