Former The Smiths rockers Morrissey and Johnny Marr still socialise together despite falling out after the band's demise - but they've never discussed reforming the legendary group. Guitarist Marr claims neither he nor Morrissey has ever brought up the subject of resurrecting The Smiths, who acrimoniously split in 1987. Marr says, "I still hang out with Morrissey from time to time and we talk about many things, but that subject never comes up."There'd be no good reason to discuss it now. All our lives have moved on. In positive and interesting ways, I'd like to think."The news comes as something of a surprise to fans of the band - in May (07), Marr revealed how he wished he could be friends with Morrissey. He said, "It is a shame that we can't be friends... he slags me off too much. I'd definitely prefer to be on nice terms with everyone. Why waste all that energy." Morrissey and Marr formed Ths Smiths in 1982 and they became one of the most influential bands of the alternative rock movement.

The band split in 1987 due to musical differences between Morrissey and Marr.
