Nicole Richie has said her wedding was magical.

Nicole Richie has opened up about her recent nuptuals to Joel Madden, branding the romantic ceremony "magical".

The socialite exchanged vows with the Good Charlotte rocker at her father, Lionel Richie's Los Angeles estate on Saturday evening.

The happy couple's daughter Harlow, two, was a flower girl and their son Sparrow, 15 months, was a ring-bearer at the French-themed nuptials.

Richie, who wore a Grace Kelly inspired wedding gown, arranged for an elephant to be in the property grounds, as the animal is associated with good luck.

She admits her big day was all she had dreamed of.

She tells People.com: "It was magical."

Her new husband Madden added: "It was the best night of my life."
