Mcgowan Upset Over Charmed Success.... Rose McGowan was dismayed when TV bosses renewed the contract for her former show Charmed, because she was hoping to only star in a couple of seasons of the supernatural drama.The Grindhouse star joined the cast of Charmed in 2001 as witch Paige Matthews, and ended up playing the role for five years until it ended last year (06).McGowan admits she wanted to leave the show, but had signed a contract binding her to further series.She says, "Every year it would get picked up and every year I would cry."
