Tracy Morgan

Tracy Morgan has sparked controversy again after joking about mental and physical disability in his stand-up act on Saturday (25Jun11).

The 30 Rock star prompted outrage earlier this month (Jun11) after making a series of remarks about homosexuality during a comedy gig in Nashville, Tennessee.

But less than three weeks after apologising for his comments, Morgan has come under fire once again.

Appearing onstage at New York City comedy club Carolines on Broadway, the actor told the crowd, "Don't ever mess with women who have retarded kids. Them young retarded males is strong. They're strong like chimps."

Morgan went on to crack a joke about an alleged romance with a teenage girl he described
as "a cripple".

A spokesperson for The Arc, an organisation that helps people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, has called for Morgan to issue an apology.

In a statement, The Arc CEO Peter Berns says, "Tracy Morgan should apologize immediately. This quote is far too offensive to be excused as comedy, and it is very hurtful to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

"Mr. Morgan has an incredibly powerful platform from which to fix this, and if he's learned anything in the last few weeks, he can't bomb this apology."
