Carey Mulligan has laughed off reports she has been staying in a downmarket hotel in Los Angeles following her rumored split from boyfriend Shia Labeouf - insisting she actually quite likes her new home.
The An Education star recently admitted she has cooled her relationship with her Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps co-star and she was later reported to have moved out of the home they shared and into a budget motel.
Mulligan has taken up residence at a $102 -a-night Best Western motel in West Hollywood while she films her new movie Drive, but the actress can't understand the fuss about her new accommodation.
She tells People.com, "I don't know why people are so down on the Best Western. They have the best sweet potato fries I've ever had."
Mulligan behan dating the Transformers star back in August 2009 after they were introduced by Oliver Stone before they began working together on Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.
She is currently working on Drive with Ryan Gosling and is set to return to the big screen next year with her new movie Never Let Me Go.
