The 43-year-old singer-songwriter insists she's always had a sibling-like relationship with the daughter of the late Whitney Houston and is keeping the 21-year-old woman in her thoughts and prayers after she was found unresponsive in a bath by her husband Nick Gordon over the weekend.

Speaking to the The Insider, the rapper said: "Bobbi is like a little sister to me. I have been very close to her mother. One thing that her mother said to me before she passed away was to make sure Bobbi Kristina was straight, so my prayers for healing [are] that she comes out and be around people that love her."

Bobbi sadly lost her legendary mother on February 11, 2012, and Missy - whose real name is Melissa - can understand her pain because losing a loved one can be like losing a "backbone."

She explained: "People think it's easy to just go on when you lose a loved one like that, but that's somebody's mother and backbone, so it's got to be very difficult."

The aspiring musician - who is currently in a medically induced coma at North Fulton Hospital in Georgia - had reportedly become "obsessed" with the anniversary of her mother's death before the incident on Saturday (31.01.15).

A family source said previously: "She was seemingly obsessed by it - strangely more so than last year or the year before.

"She talked more about that anniversary, than her recent first wedding anniversary."

Meanwhile, Bobbi's father Bobby Brown, 45 has asked for privacy at this difficult time but has confirmed his daughter - who reportedly has "significantly diminished" brain function - is still receiving treatment.

He said in a statement: "Privacy is requested in this matter. Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time."
