Chocolate Cake

Serves 8

* Preparation time: 10 minutes
* Cooking time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

·250g dark chocolate

·200g of light butter, cubed

·5 eggs, separated

·5 tablespoons Splenda® Granulated Sweetener

·1 knob of light margarine for greasing

Method

·Preheat the oven to 180°C

·Melt the chocolate and butter in a pan over a low heat

·Separate the egg yolks and egg whites

·Remove pan from heat, fold in egg yolks and Granulated Sweetener

·Whisk the egg whites in a bowl, until stiff

·Carefully fold the egg whites into the mixture, with a metal spoon or spatula.

·Pour the mixture into greased tin

·Bake for 15 minutes

·Remove from the tin

·Leave to cool on a cake rack

·Sprinkle with Granulated Sweetener before serving.

Note: To check the cake is cooked, insert a skewer into the centre of the cake, it should come out clean. You can serve with light custard sauce or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
