Indian Cooking: Rice Masterclass

Indian Cooking: Rice Masterclass

If you want to celebrate both National Curry Week and London Cocktail Week at the same time, look no further than Carom, in Soho.

Carom is a stylish Indian restaurant that specialises in providing authentic high-quality cuisine, as well as refreshing Indian-inspired cocktails.

The interior is a blend of traditional Indian style and undeniable class. Decorated in jewel colours, with candle lanterns, throws and vibrant cushions, the place has an intimate yet laid back feel.

As part of National Curry Week, they held their monthly Curry Club last night (10.09.12). The night was an exclusive Rice Masterclass, and aimed to teach guests everything about how to make the perfect rice when cooking curry.

Carom's signature rice type is Green Saffron AAA Grade Vintage Rice, a grain with almost legendary status that is grown in the foothills of the Himalayas.

After being taught all there is to know about making the perfect rice, guests were then served a three-course Indian meal, with Balaji Balachander, the Executive Chef's speciality, Chicken Biryani.

Mr Balachander is originally from Chennai, and his love of south Indian spices is reflected in his simple, down-to-earth approach to cooking.

Carom is at 100 Wardour Street, in the heart of Soho.

The next Curry Club will be taking place on Wednesday 7thNovember, for more information see: meza-soho.co.uk/offer/carom-curry-club/390
