National Cask Ale Week: OakCask cocktail

National Cask Ale Week: OakCask cocktail

The week is organised by Cask Marque with support from the Campaign For Real Ale (CAMRA), and aims to dispel the tired image of real ale drinkers being old men. Its purpose is to get young people back in pubs and with this in mind, Bacardi have put together a cocktail that uses real ale.

The OakCask cocktail is great for men who often dismiss cocktails as being too girly (though we suspect girls will like it just as much).

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Bacardi OakHeart
  • 50ml Innis & Gunn (aged in rum barrels)
  • 1 whole passion fruit
  • 25ml butterscotch reduction (made when butterscotch is boiled down to intensify its flavour)
  • Dash of egg white

Instructions:

  1. Put all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker, add ice, and shake really hard. This is the part that makes the cocktail proper manly.
  2. Strain into a glass (go for a proper flagon for full effect).
