I have also been asked to co-host the Allergy Blog Awards, this is a company founded by Lyndsay who has a son who suffers from multiple allergies and intolerances and does her best to do anything she can to bring happiness and fun to the allergy world. Lyndsay asked me to co-host the first year of the awards which is in Manchester this year which is really exciting and I am so honored to do this, for more information visit: http://allergyblogawardsuk.co.uk/awards-ceremony-2017/ tickets go on sale in December so I shall keep you all updated. If you are an allergy blogger then it is something that you absolutely need to get involved in.

Oki Nami is a Japanese restaurant located in the heart of Brighton, it has a lovely light and airy feel to the restaurant, the furnishings are simple and clean and what you would expect for a Japanese restaurant. I went with a friend for a light lunch so have a few dishes. They do have a gluten free menu and clearly label vegan and vegetarian options and it does have plenty of options. They also have the tamari gluten free soy sauce to enjoy with sushi. I remember the days I had to take my own soy sauce to restaurants, yes I really did!

I started with a simple selection of avocado maki, a favourite of mine as it is light yet full of protein and healthy. Topped with ginger and wasabi and then dipper in soy sauce, one of my fav dishes! Then we decided to try the very delicious seaweed salad, super healthy, full of veggies and goodness this was a great dish. I always feel with these types of salads that they are so fresh and a great dish to have at lunch as it won't make you feel sleepy but the seaweed will pack you with nutrients and energy. The only disappointing thing, was the service was incredibly slow and with only an hour to spare I found I had to eat everything in a bit of a rush!

This week I am sharing a lovely dessert recipe and one that has gone a bit wild on my Instagram account, it is my vegan and gluten free Rocky Roads, so easy to make and great tasting too! Come and check me out at @biteappycaroline https://www.biteappy.com/blog/blog/vegan-rocky-road/
