The upcoming sequel to the massively popular survival horror game is currently in the works by developers Naughty Dog, and game director Neil Druckmann has taken to Twitter to confirm they are in the process of using motion capture to map the movements of the farm animal.

Posting a picture of the large pig on the site on Tuesday (27.06.17), Neil wrote: "Today's mocap session is off to a great start. (sic)"

Whilst game writer Halley Gross posted a video of herself feeding the creature, with the caption: "Guys guys guys guys guys!"

The casting announcement comes after 'Westworld' actress Shannon Woodward posted a photo on Twitter which confirmed her involvement with the game back in April.

Posting a picture of herself with the Neil, Shannon wrote on the social media site at the time: I am embarrassingly over-excited here because I'm peaking. @Neil_Druckmann is letting me act in The Last Of Us:Part II . (sic)"

Development of 'The Last Of Us: Part II' began in 2014, a year after the release of the first instalment.

A first trailer for the game revealed the story will continue to follow main characters Ellie and Joel, and will take place five years after the end of the first game.

Players will assume the control of Ellie - a young girl who appears to be immune to the infection which took hold of the population and threw her and Joel into a post-apocalyptic world - in contrast to the first game, where players controlled the actions of Joel.

No release date has yet been confirmed for the game, but the game will be available for the PlayStation 4, following on from the first game's release on the PlayStation 3.
