'Lego Marvel's Avengers' - released in January by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

The year started with a bang, with the release of this magnificent gaming experience.

Whoever thought Lego was just for kids?

This combines all the greatness of the comic book-based blockbuster movie with the iconic plastic construction toys.

And it's even better than the previous instalment, 'Lego Marvel Superheroes' with much more in the way of content and a host characters from the Marvel Universe.

'Batman: The Telltale Series' - released in August by Telltale Games.

The episodic game series licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and based on DC's iconic character was rendered to look like a living, breathing comic book, Telltale's vision of Batman features an award-winning cast of talent, including Troy Baker in the role of Bruce Wayne and Travis Willingham as Harvey Dent.

It's the hottest 'Dark Knight' series to come out in a long time!

'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End' - released in May by Naughty Dog and Sony Computer Entertainment.

Naughty Dog pulled out all the stops with this one.

They made an already amazing series even better with one hell of an emotional storyline.

Gamers are taken on one big adventure with all of the puzzle solving and treasure hunting.

If you own a PS4 console then you'd be foolish not to pick up this game!

'Tom Clancy's The Division' - released in March by Ubisoft.

It was a troublesome start for Tom Clancy's game as they were forced to have the servers taken down to undergo unexpected maintenance.

The Clear Sky challenge function was also briefly delayed

However, gamers were eventually able to have the option to change the difficulty on Clear Sky to challenging as well as the usual hard mode.

But the hard work by Ubisoft all paid off and it was worth the wait!

'Watch Dogs 2' - released in November

The open world action-adventure video game developed and published by Ubisoft ticks off our top five PlayStation 4 games of 2016
