Battlefield 1 was unveiled by DICE and EA over the weekend, with gamers instantly flocking to call it one of the best looking war games they've ever seen.

In the first look reveal trailer, visuals are shown including horses being brought to tank fights, and multiplayer battles with up to a whopping 64 players are being promised.

Landscapes and maps will take players across the globe, whilst gamers will also be able to take to the skies in "some of the biggest battles ever seen".

Aleksander Grøndal, Senior Producer at DICE comments: "The game will deliver a fresh experience full of what makes Battlefield great, with a multiplayer sandbox, immersion, epic scale, authenticity, team play and an ever-changing world full of unexpected Battlefield moments.

"We're inviting players on an epic journey across a war-torn world, taking them to the Great War and providing something both varied and unique in Battlefield 1."

The game itself will be set against the backdrop of World War 1, with modern warfare being birthed and a furious arms race between allies and enemies which will ultimately decide who gets the upper hand, going on to create the most "technologically divergent war of all time".

Battlefield 1 will launch on October 21 worldwide on Xbox One, Origin for PC and PlayStation 4.
