Capcom has announced the hotly-anticipated improvement will see boxer Balrog reprise his role in the video game as well as female ninja Ibuki, who was initially supposed to be on the game in time for May.

The developer revealed the update will land on July 1, and also include fans' favourite Story Mode.

Balrog is well known to 'Street Fighter' fans as he featured in 'Street Fighter IV'.

The character loves an overhead punch as well as a spinning punch, which is an ideal move to make if you are trying to dodge a projectile, plus his V-trigger move can be worked in with others.

Balrog and Ibuki have become the third and fourth 'Street Fighter V' DLC characters, following in the footsteps of Alex and Guile.

The quartet will also be joined by Juri and Urien after a trailer shown at CEO 2016 showed the pair will be heading to the game soon.

In March, it was announced that Alex - who featured in 'Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike' - was heading to the latest game in a free trial period.

Capcom released a statement about the new fighter, which read: "Fan favourite Alex made his first appearance in 'Street Fighter III' back in 1997, and he hits the streets again as a brash grappler whose bold attitude often gets him into trouble. His parents died while he was still young, so he was raised by his father's friend who taught him everything he knows about fighting."

'Street Fighter V' is out for PlayStation4 and PC.
