Developers Blackmill Games and M2H announced the add-on to the popular World War I shooter game on Wednesday (24.05.17).

It revealed the new game is focused on action in the Eastern Front, according to Gamespot.

The video game was named after the 1914 Battle of Tannenberg and Blackmill developer Jos Hoebe, revealed the game will show the "more mobile side" of World War I.

Speaking about the upcoming game, he said: "The Russians and AustroHungarians played a huge part in the First World War and we're looking forward to portraying their contribution. The Eastern Front didn't see the same trench warfare as in the West - in Tannenberg we offer players the experience of a more mobile side of the war which many people may be unfamiliar with."

'Tannenberg' will also feature a new game mode that supports 64 players - made up of 32 players on each side.

The gameplay environments will also be varied - with players fighting in "exposed snowy plains and thick forests to burned villages and mountain pastures."

Meanwhile, 'Verdun', which launched in April 2015, has sold more than 850,000 copies.
