Invest in a good rug for your living room and/or bedroom as they are both principle rooms in your home. Autumn means cosy and comfy, so I would recommend investing in a great synthetic silk rug. These almost have the feel of real silk under foot, but are cleanable and a fraction of the price.

Go cushion mad, using faux-fur, textures and velvets in particular as they are very in this Autumn. Buy a few of each so you have ample and scatter them on your sofa and bed for a really cosy effect.

Warm up your room colour with some glowing accessories. Throws in aubergine or ox blood really warm up a space, and grab a good coffee table book too in the same colour way.

Buy some great smelling candles in abundance, these can be anything to suit your budget. Zara candles smell great but if you are able to purchase a couple from design house Gucci for that exotic luxurious smell you won’t regret it.

Re-frame your photos; make up a wall of great black and white photos of family and friends and frame them all in different sizes. It looks fab if you arrange them well. Practice on the floor first, before hanging them!
