If you are friends with or related to a minimalist and want to get them a gift for their birthday, as a thank you or for the festive period, here are a few ideas that they will love.

Coffee and a chat

Coffee and a chat

A restaurant voucher- This means they can eat out with whoever they choose; a partner, their children, a friend or family and enjoy the experience of a gift that involves their nearest and dearest.

A cinema voucher- If they love to keep up to date with the latest movies- this is the ideal gift for them. They could use it on a date night with their partner, take their kids to see something fun or simply to go alone to kill a couple of hours.

Cake and a coffee- Rather than buy them something to open- offer to take them out for a catch up at your local coffee shop and pay for it at the end. They will value the company and the chat far more than a gift.

Ask them what they want- Many minimalists will be open and honest about what they want or need when a celebration comes around and won’t be offended at you asking the question. By enquiring as to what they want, you wont waste your money on something they don’t.

A donation- If they really don’t want or need anything, you could find out what their favourite charity is and donate the money you would have spent to a good cause instead.

Tickets- To the theatre, for their favourite band, to go to a festival, a theme park, to see their favourite comedian- this gives them something to look forward to and they might just take you along with them!

An experience day- Ask them what they have always wanted to do and make it happen. You might find yourself on a boat trip, rock climbing, taking a long walk on a beautiful beach, visiting an iconic landmark, paintballing or riding a horse. Who knows- all you have to do is ask and your end of the bargain is to help them tick something off their bucket list.
